With online instruction, it is harder for instructors and students to work on problems together. Thankfully, there are various online whiteboards that make it easier to share work and write in real time. iPads are great for interactive learning, however they come at a higher price point and don’t allow for Zoom split screens. As an alternative, we have linked some cheaper alternatives that connect to your computer with a USB cable. This is definitely not necessary for online instruction, but it certainly makes the process easier. These are not affiliate links. If you don’t mind waiting longer for shipping, you can save some extra money by ordering the GAOMON tablet from AliExpress. There are also many other digital tablets on the market, so you can find the one that works best for you.
Staying organized and managing time effectively is essential, especially with remote learning. While we stay home and continue online instruction, we are met with the opportunity to practice discipline and time management. Using a planner to keep track of due dates and block out time is a great way to ensure that you can get all of your assignments done on time. You can even use a free online planner like MyStudyLife. When it comes to mathematics, writing out each step of the problem is key. Instead of working out problems on a sheet of paper, you can get some of that classroom feel back by creating your own whiteboard. All you have to do is place a piece of paper in a sheet protector and you’re all set. Not only is this better for the environment, but it also makes it easier to write and erase math problems. Alternatively, you can use this collaborative online whiteboard that works in real time.
